31st MMFF: BEH BUTI NGA!!!
The cast of KUTOB"Ang mga sakim ay hindi nagwawagi."
Nagproprotesta raw si Mother Lily at Joel Lamangan kasi hindi nanalo si Direk Joel ng Best Director. Sabi pa ni Direk, madumi daw and festival. He expected to win kaya raw sya nasa Aliw theater.
Nanalo for best direction si Direk Jose Javier Reyes for KUTOB. Tapos best actor si Marvin for his role in that film.
Sa best actress naman ay si Mrs. Dolphy (Zsa-zsa). Best picture naman ang BLUE MOON ni Direk Lamangan, kaya pala sya nag-expect na manalo. It goes hand-in-hand daw na kung sinong best picture, eh ang nag-direk noon ang best director.
Ang masasabi ko lang kay Mother at Direk Joel, eh "BEH BUTI NGA!!!" Mga sakim kasi kayo eh. Mag-eenter kayo ng apat na films sa MMFF, that's breaking the rules. Anong akala nyo? Pag marami kayong entry eh mas malaki ang chance na marami kayong mapanalunan. And who says na kung best picture ka eh best director ka rin? Helloooo??? Although it's usually the case, hindi parating nangyayari. Take the case of the Oscars in 2003. Best Picture went to CHICAGO, but the best director went to Roman Polanski who directed THE PIANIST.
Ang yayabang ninyo naman. Ang tigas nyong sabihin na "Of course I expected to win!" Anong klaseng statement yan? Kung ang mga batikang director na gaya ni Spielber eh hindi nagsasabi ng ganyan, eh kayo pang walang "K" na magsabi ng ganyan.
Para kayong mga bata, ni-break na nga ninyo ang rules at first, tapos i-expect nyo pang manalo, tapos nung natalo na kayo eh you're accusing MMFF of dishonesty. Buti pa maglaro na lang kayo ng bahay-bahayan.
Congrats to Direk Reyes for winning the award. You truly derserve it. Ang masasabi ko lang kay Mother Lily at Direk Joel eh "Karma's a bitch ain't it"?
